Ahoria Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
This policy explains how Ahoria (“Ahoria”, “we”) processes your personal data when you use the Ahoria mobile app and the Ahoria pages on vargohub.com (the “Service”). By using the Service you accept this policy.
1. Who we are
Ahoria is a personal finance and collaborative saving app for Guatemala, published within vargohub.com and built on the Vargo platform. The controller of your data is the Ahoria team, based in Guatemala. You can write to us at ahoria@vargohub.com.
2. Data we process
- Account: name, email address, password (stored encrypted), @username and, if you provide it, phone number.
- What you log: your expenses, income, savings contributions, plans and groups, with their amounts, details, statuses and dates; and, in shared groups, who paid or who owes each part of an expense.
- Receipt photos (optional): if you attach a receipt photo to an expense, we store it on our servers next to that expense. The people in the group you share that expense with can see it, and anyone with the exact image link could open it. Avoid photographing sensitive data.
- Interaction with other people: your connections, your chat messages, the expenses you choose to share in them and the groups you share.
- Voice (optional): your phone’s built-in speech recognition (Apple or Google) turns your voice into text, under their own terms. Ahoria does not record or receive your audio. Only the recognized text and the names of your groups are sent to an artificial-intelligence service of the Vargo platform to prepare a draft that you confirm.
- Camera and photos (optional): the camera is used to scan other people’s QR codes and to photograph receipts; the photo library only to pick a receipt photo. We do not access your photos in any other way.
- Courses: your progress in the lessons.
- Minimal technical data: device and system type, error and security logs, and IP address on the server.
We do not sell your data, we do not use advertising or third-party analytics and we do not track you across apps or sites. Ahoria does not sell in-app purchases.
3. What we use it for
- Creating and maintaining your account and authenticating you.
- Showing you your entries, charts and courses.
- Letting you share and chat with the people you accept.
- Providing support and handling reports of content or people.
- Keeping the Service secure and preventing abuse or fraud.
- Meeting legal obligations.
We process it to run the Service you ask for, with your consent and, for security, on the basis of legitimate interest.
4. Where it is stored and who processes it
Your data is stored on the infrastructure of the Vargo platform (vargohub.com), our technology provider, on servers that may be located outside Guatemala. The text you dictate is interpreted by an artificial-intelligence provider engaged through that platform; speech recognition is done by your phone. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). These providers act on our behalf and only to provide the Service.
5. Who we share it with
- With the people you choose to share a group, plan or chat with: they will see what you share with them.
- With the technical providers mentioned above.
- With competent authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.
6. How long we keep it
While your account is active. If you delete it, we delete your account, your entries, your connections and your messages; backups are removed in their normal cycle. Receipt photo files may take longer to be removed from the servers: if you want them deleted right away, write to us. We may keep only what the law requires us to keep, for the minimum time necessary.
7. Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, delete it, object to its processing and withdraw your consent. You can exercise these rights from your profile in the app or by writing to ahoria@vargohub.com; we reply within 15 business days.
Delete your account: in the app, Profile → “Delete my account”, or follow the instructions at Delete your account.
8. Minors
Ahoria is not aimed at children under 13. If you are a minor, use the app with the permission and supervision of your parent or guardian.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures: encryption in transit, encrypted passwords, per-user access control (each account only sees its own data and that of the groups it belongs to) and an optional app lock with Face ID or the phone passcode. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. International transfers
Because our providers may operate outside Guatemala, your data may be processed in other countries. In those cases we require adequate protection measures.
11. Changes to this policy
We will publish any change on this page and, if it is important, let you know in the app. The date above shows the latest version.
